Ever since I started my first business back in 1989, meeting new and existing customers face to face was an important part of my sales and marketing strategy. But back then we didn't have the internet, smartphones, social media, and exhibitions were relatively cheap to attend. We also attended a lot of training days, seminars, and smaller regional events, these were usually very well attended, very focused delegates, and definitely cheap as the organisers were just looking for a contribution towards the lunch costs, or sometimes even just a tray of doughnuts. Today, in 2023, we are post-lockdown, and exhibitions and conferences are very much back open for business, but are they a good way of growing your business?
